Why OLGS?
At Our Lady of Guadalupe School, we are committed to providing your students with a quality education, guidance to deepen their faith, and a place to call home.
Faith
OLG is committed to enriching the faith walk of our students. This is done through:
-
Weekly mass and daily prayer.
-
Providing 45 minutes of religious education class for each student that work towards the completion of their First Communion and Confirmation.
-
Weaving faith into the school’s curriculum, from investigating His work in Science to exploring His plan in History.
-
Surrounding students with a community of staff and families committed to Catholic faith and values.
Excellence
We are devoted to providing our students with the best resources, such as:
-
New, state-of-the-art curricula and materials.
-
Technology;
-
Each student is assigned a Chromebook to use during the school day through our One-to-One Technology program.
-
Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards that open up a world of possibilities for our teachers.
-
Our students receive Digital Citizenship education that teaches them how to be safe and responsible while using the Internet as a tool.
-
-
Participation in the Museum of Science and Industry’s Science Leadership School Partners Program, through which the museum works with our school to optimize our science program.
-
A variety of clubs, including Folkloric Dance, Ballet, Chess, Photography, and Science, that allow students to expand the scope of their learning and interests.
Pride
Students at OLG are surrounded by a rich history and heritage that encourages them to explore and develop their own distinct sense of identity.
-
Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish has deep historical roots as the first Mexican Catholic Parish in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
-
Since then, our school has welcomed students of all backgrounds and heritages to enroll, explore their identities, and deepen their faiths.
-
We encourage students of all ages to foster friendships across grades, which helps to create a tight-knit community among our students.
