Home of the National Shrine of St. Jude
Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish is home to the National Shrine of St Jude, patron saint of impossible causes. The shrine was founded by Claretian missionaries in 1929. A place of significance to those facing the hardships of the Great Depression and World War II, it is still maintained by the Claretians today.
12 Fallen Soldiers of OLG Parish
During the Vietnam War, tragedy struck Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish as it held funerals for 12 parishioners, more than any other Catholic parish in the US. In the wake of this hardship, a monument was erected across the street from the parish in memory of the 12 fallen soldiers.
